A man has denied the murder of a Sunderland grandad at his home.
Daniel Johnson, 20, is accused of killing David Wilson, who was found dead in his flat at Southwick, Sunderland, on December 14 2014.
The 49-year-old father and grandfather had been stabbed to death.
Johnson, of Howe Street, Gateshead, appeared at Newcastle Crown Court via video link to HMP Durham.
He pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder.
Mr Justice Globe appeared at the hearing via video link to the Old Bailey in London.
A trial has been listed for June 7 next year.
Johnson has been remanded in custody.
