A MAN accused of posing as a doctor so he could grope a woman in a pub has been cleared.
Kevin Ashton Taylor denied sexually assaulting a woman in Sunderland on May 15 last year.
The woman appeared at Newcastle Crown Court to give evidence during a trial.
She said that Ashton-Taylor had introduced himself as Doctor Jarrell and said he might be able to help her with a medical condition. The 52-year-old denied the claims when he gave evidence from the witness box.
He said: “I didn’t touch her at all.”
Ashton-Taylor said the accusation he had claimed to be a medic was “made up” by the woman.
Ashton-Taylor, of Washington Street, Millfield, Sunderland was found not guilty by a jury,
