Man charged with two burglaries at same Sunderland house

A MAN has been charged with two burglaries at the same house in Sunderland.

On August 16, police received a report that cash cards had been stolen from a woman’s purse at a house at Fordland Place.

Inquiries established a 
man had befriended the 
resident, in her 60s, and between August 11 and 14, the theft had taken place at her home.

On August 20, there was another report that on the previous day, the man had stolen more than £100 from the woman’s handbag.

Jordan Barnes, 30, of Devonshire Tower, Sunderland, has been charged with two counts of burglary.

He is remanded in custody to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on September 5.
