A man has been arrested following an anti-immigration protest in Sunderland.
The Sunderland Defence League were protesting about mass immigration in the city and a counter protest was made by the Unite Against Fascism group.
It is believed the demonstrations took place in the Market Square area.
One man was arrested for a public order offence.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "Two protest events took place in Sunderland city centre today and passed without incident. One man was arrested for a public order offence. We'd like thank to everyone for their co-operation."
