A man accused of attempted murder after a pub stabbing has appeared in court.
Steven Robinson is accused of attacking a 33-year-old man at the Oaklands pub in Durham Way, Peterlee, last month.
The victim was stabbed several times and taken to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough in a “serious but stable” condition.
Steven Robinson, 40, of Elliott Road, Peterlee, appeared at Newcastle Crown Court today via videolink to HMP Durham.
He was not asked to enter a plea to the attempted murder charge.
Robinson will be back in court for a plea and directions hearing on October 19 and could face a trial by a jury on January 25 next year.
Judge Paul Sloan QC remanded him in custody in the meantime.
