A MAN who killed a dad during a doorstep confrontation on Father’s Day has been jailed for 11 years.
Nicholas Warrender, who had stabbed Kevin Gaunt, 52, in June, was cleared of murder at Newcastle Crown Court earlier this afternoon.
He was found guilty of manslaughter after a trial by jury. He had admitted carrying the steak knife but denied intending to kill.
Warrender has now been given an 11-year jail sentence.
