POLICE have arrested a man after an alleged aggravated burglary in Sunderland.
Officers were called to the house near Saltburn Road, in Springwell, after receiving a report of two men forcing their way in and threatening the occupant with a knife.
Police said they stole a small quantity of cash before fleeing the address.
The householder was left shaken, but uninjured.
Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Pickett, from Northumbria Police, said: “We have neighbourhood officers in the area carrying out patrols and speaking to residents.
“One man has been arrested in connection with the burglary.”
