POLICE are appealing for information after a swan was found dead.
The bird was discovered in bushes near the lake at Boldon Business Park, Boldon Colliery, on Thursday, after a member of public reported it.
Northumbria Police say it is unclear whether a crime has been committed, but inquiries into the bird’s death are ongoing.
It is illegal to kill swans in this country and people can face a fine of up to £5,000 or a six-month jail sentence.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 101, extension 69191.
