Inquest to take place over death of Sunderland man John Sumner

AN inquest is to take place after a man was found dead in Washington.

The body of a man found at a recycling centre on Tuesday has now been formally identified as John Sumner, from Sunderland.

An investigation into how the 26-year-old died will open at Sunderland Coroner’s Office on Tuesday, from 4pm.

The Echo understands Mr Sumner’s body was discovered by workers separating rubbish at Impetus Washington Recycling Centre, on Wilden Road, at about 1pm on Tuesday. Police say he lived at Lincoln Street, in Pallion.
