PEOPLE are being invited to have their say on elected police commissioners.
Durham Police Authority is holding a workshop on Tuesday, August 30, about the changes being proposed to local policing.
It comes as the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill is prepared for consideration by Parliament and receive Royal assent at the end of the summer.
New Police and Crime Commissioners will be elected, replacing Police Authorities, in May 2012. They will hold the police budget and will have the responsibility to address the concerns raised by people in the force area.
The workshop, at Durham Town Hall, is free to attend and starts at 9am.
Anyone interested in taking part should contact the authority by calling 383 6529 or email email@example.com to book a place.
