WEARSIDERS are being asked to have their say on policing.
The Home Affairs Committee survey is quizzing householders on a range of issues, in an attempt to get a national picture of how proposed shake-ups to police will affect communities.
MP Keith Vaz, committee chairman, said: “We are holding an inquiry into the New Landscape of Policing, with the aim of assessing the extent that the Government’s proposals will enhance police efficiency, economy and effectiveness.
“We’re keen to hear your views on what police should be doing.
“Given the financial constraints that police forces face, the committee would like to hear which areas of work you think the police should prioritise and which areas of work you think should be a lower priority.”
The forum is split into categories for people to comment on, including antisocial behaviour, criminal damage and child protection.
It closes on June 23 and can be accessed by visiting http://forums.parliament.uk/ and clicking on the policing priorities poll link.
