A MAN caught with a £3,000 cannabis farm in his loft has been spared jail.
Police found 24 plants growing among the rafters of Christopher Edwards home at Windermere Street, Grangetown, Sunderland.
Newcastle Crown Court heard the plants had a potential yield of £3,000.
Edwards, 26, admitted growing the drug and prosecutors accepted it was for his own personal use.
Judge Esmond Faulks sentenced him to six months in jail, suspended for 12 months.
