A MUM’S home was targeted by armed raiders while she and her two children were inside.
David Forbister was part of a gang who burst into Jade Burns’s house and slashed her partner Tony Wardle’s face with a razor blade.
Newcastle Crown Court heard the two men who went inside the house, while one waited outside, hoped to find something to steal.
Forbister, 34, of Thistle Road, Thorney Close, denied aggravated burglary but was convicted after a trial.
He denied being at the house, but Judge John Milford QC said while he did not inflict the wound, he was at the door, and sentenced him to 10 years.
Jurors cleared him of wounding charges.
As Forbister was led away, he said: “I didn’t even get out of the car, you know, you have sentenced me to 10 years for being a passenger.”
The court heard that at the time of the attack, he was out on licence from the latest of his 48 previous convictions.
