Four people from Sunderland to face drugs charges after £1m haul is seized by police

FOUR people from Sunderland have been charged with drugs offences after police seize cocaine with a street value of £1m.

Asa Dobbing, 35, of Ryhope Grange Court, Aidan Dobbing, 30, of Revelston Close, Doxford Park, Iain Potts, 27, of Cavendish Place and Leanne Mariner, 31, of Bonners Raff all Sunderland were among 10 people arrested as part of a six month operation by officers from the North East Regional Special Operations Unit (NERSOU).

The group along with four men and two women from South Tyneside and other parts of the country have all been charged with conspiring to supply class A drugs.

The arrests come after several kilos of high purity cocaine with a street value of over £1m, around £33,000 cash and vehicles were seized.

A number of houses have also been made subject to proceeds of crime applications.

A Northumbria Police officer has also been charged with misconduct in a public office and another man with procuring that misconduct.

The Pc has been suspended form duty since May this year.

All 11 will appear before Peterlee Magistrates Court on January 9, 2015.

Christopher Catchpole, 47, of Jack Lawson Terrace, Wheatley Hill, County Durham

Victoria Carter, 24, of Saint Oswins Street, South Shields

Kevin Dudley, 39, of Hadrian Road, Jarrow

Jamie Lee Malloy, 25, of Saint Oswins Street, South Shields,

Gary Steven Christie, 40, of Silksworth Lane in Sunderland has been charged with misconduct in a public office.

Asa Dobbing, 35, of Ryhope Grange Court in Sunderland has also been charged with Aid, Abet, Counsel or Procure Misconduct in Public Office.
