POLICE have arrested four men following an assault in Sunderland.
At just before 2.30am, on Friday, May 9, police received a report from the ambulance service of a man having been assaulted at an address on Argyle Square.
Officers attended the scene where a 22-year-old man was found suffering from a cut to the back of his head. This is believed to have been caused by a glass object.
He was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital for treatment. However, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Three men, aged 21, 20 and 19, have all been arrested on suspicion of unlawful wounding. Another 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
All four are helping police with enquiries.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the assault today and are keen to hear from anyone with information.
