COVERT cameras helped snare a flytipper who dumped bathroom fittings.
John Ball was caught when the Environment Agency set up surveillance at Murton Ponds, after it became dumping hotspot.
Peterlee Magistrates’ Court heard the cameras captured two people arriving at the spot, regularly visited by dog walkers, and leave bathroom fittings on October 5.
Investigations led to Ball.
The 21-year-old, of Barnes Street, Hetton, admitted depositing controlled waste without an environmental permit on land, and being a non-registered carrier of controlled waste, after he was stopped on November 24 in Dalton-le-Dale, and found transporting scrap metal.
Ball was fined £65 for each offence, and ordered to pay £154 in compensation.
