SIX people have been arrested after a swoop by police this morning.
The suspects are being held over alleged drugs and money laundering offences, following raids led by Durham Constabulary.
More than 40 officers were involved in Operation Bream, which took place at 6am
The arrests were made at two addresses in Witton Gilbert on the outskirts of Durham, one in Langley Park and one in Stanley.
At the same time officers from Northumbria Police also raided properties in Hetton and Houghton.
Five men and one woman, aged between 26 and 53, are being investigated on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
Four of the men and the woman are also being held on suspicion of money laundering.
They are now in custody at Peterlee and Durham police stations and will be interviewed later today.
A Landrover was also seized from one of the Witton Gilbert properties.
The operation was part of Durham Constabulary’s ongoing Sledgehammer campaign.
