Five due in court over cocaine charges

FIVE people are due to appear before court charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine.

All were arrested as part of Operation Sledgehammer, Durham Constabulary’s campaign against organised crime and drugs.

They will appear before Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, December 18, to face the allegations.

Detective Chief Inspector Victoria Fuller said: “Taking drugs off the streets of County Durham and Darlington is a key priority for us.”

Those due to appear in court are Kevin Bruce, 53, from Brinkburn Crescent, Houghton, Kate Bruce, 29, from Lambton Drive, Hetton, Ronald Morton, 49, from Friarside, Craig Gault, 26, from Waterson Crescent, both Witton Gilbert, and David Wallage, 47, from Ivy Terrace, Langley Park.
