DETECTIVES are linking two arson attacks at the same home within almost 24 hours of each other.
The first incident happened on Friday at 7.45pm as a black Audi A5 parked on the driveway of the home in St Helen’s Drive, Dawdon, Seaham, was set alight.
Firefighters were called to put out the blaze.
The second blaze began at 8.30pm the next day, Christmas Eve, when the front door of the house was set alight.
Only minor damage was caused to the entrance.
Police believe both attacks are connected and say accelerant was used in both instances.
Officers say a silver taxi was seen leaving the street in the aftermath of the second fire.
