A COUPLE who attacked a man on his doorstep have been spared prison.
William Dack used a pool cue, and Kirstie Pearce kicked the victim as he lay on the ground.
They were in dispute with the man after an earlier altercation, Durham Crown Court heard.
“That happened at Horden Labour Club,” said Stuart Graham, prosecuting. “A few hours later Dack and Pearce turned up on the victim’s doorstep,
“When he answered the door, Dack hit him on the side of the head with part of a pool cue.
“There followed a scuffle in which Pearce kicked the victim.”
Dack, 22, of Conyers Crescent, Peterlee, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon on August 21, last year.
Pearce, 21, of Beaumont Crescent, Peterlee, admitted affray on the same date.
The Recorder, Mr Darren Preston, sentenced Dack to 40 weeks in prison, suspended for a year, 140 hours of community work, and an 8pm to 6am curfew for 10 weeks. He must also pay £350 compensation to the victim.
Pearce was sentenced to a 12-month community order, 100 hours of community work, and she must pay £150 compensation.
