A DOCTOR was caught with pornography on his computer showing images of child abuse and people having sex with animals.

Newcastle Crown Court heard Kenneth Pollard, 60, accessed the outlawed material online and was tracked by investigators.

He downloaded 1,000 pictures and films, rated as some of the worst category of their type.

When officers went to his home in Marsden Lane, Cleadon, in May last year, he pointed to his laptop and said: “There is no point in denying it. The images are on there. I like that sort of thing.”

Pollard now lives at Hall Laws, Marshall, Merseyside.

He admitted possessing the material and was given a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, with supervision and sex offender programme requirements.

Pollard must sign the sex offenders’ register for 10 years and comply with a sexual offences prevention order for five years.
