Display phone stolen from Sunderland Carphone Warehouse

POLICE have put out a witness appeal after an expensive mobile phone was stolen from a Sunderland store.

The theft happened at 4.45pm on Thursday January 2 at Carphone Warehouse in The Bridges shopping centre, when a display mobile phone worth hundreds of pounds was stolen.

Information given to police suggests a 17-year-old male in the shop at the time witnessed the theft and police are appealing for him to come forward in case he can help with enquiries.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft and is currently on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for the teenage witness, or anyone else with information, to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 860 02/01/14.
