POLICE are appealing for information after a delivery driver was robbed in Sunderland.

At just after 11pm, on Monday, March 24, police received a report that a driver had been robbed while returning to a depot on Sunrise Enterprise Park, on Ferryboat Lane.

The driver, a 44-year-old man, had returned the company vehicle to the depot and was getting into his own car when he was approached by two men, one armed with an iron bar.

As a result, the victim stumbled backwards and fell over dropping a money wallet which the offenders then made off with.

The victim was left shaken but uninjured as a result of the robbery.

The men are both described as white. One was around 5ft 5ins tall and wearing a beige hoody.

The money wallet was an A4 envelope-style with a zip across the top.

Investigations into the incident are continuing today and police are keen to hear from any witnesses.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101, extension 69191, quoting log number 1318 24/03/14, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
