A DELIVERY driver faces losing his job after he was caught behind the wheel at more than twice the legal drink-drive limit.
Michal Pawlak smelled of alcohol when police visited his home in Heugh Hill, Springwell, in September, Sunderland magistrates heard.
Later that morning, the officer saw the 33-year-old driving a Ford Street Ka along Sunderland Highway. Pawlak had 76 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath – the legal limit being 35. He admitted drink-driving and having no insurance.
Pawlak said “I’m a home shopping delivery driver. I have no idea if they will keep me on.”
He was banned from driving for 18 months and fined £305.
