HOMES have been targeted in early morning raids today as part of a national operation to crackdown on suspected drug dealers.
Around 200 officers were involved in the strikes, which took place in County Durham, Leeds, Shropshire and Manchester shortly after 6am.
In County Durham, homes in West Rainton, South Hetton, Thornley and Sherburn were searched.
The raids, carried out under the name Operation Russett, has led to the arrest of 12 men, two women and a youth on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
The effort also included officers from the National Crime Agency.
