The following cases have been dealt with at Sunderland Magistrates’ Court.
Christopher Tschida, 31, of Canon Cockin Street, Hendon was jailed for 46 weeks after being found guilty trespassing in a home in Beechwood Street on August 12, and the theft of a door key. He also admitted a further charge of trespass on the same date, stealing keys and cash of unknown value from Wilkinson’s. He was told to pay compensation of £1,100 and a criminal courts charge of £1,000.
Kevin Orr, 26, of Lambton Tower, Sunderland, pleaded guilty to assault and possession of cannabis, on August 16, and breaching a conditional discharge. He was told to pay compensation of £50, victim surcharge of £20, £85 costs and a criminal courts charge of £150.
Daniel Swalwell, 21, of Hylton Road, Sunderland, admitted theft of £600 in cash on June 12. He was handed a 12-month community order, an eight-week night-time curfew and 30 days’ activity programme. He was told to pay compensation of £600 and a criminal courts charge of £180.
Alexandria Young, 21, Crake Way, Washington pleaded guilty to three counts of theft from Carphone Warehouse on February 10. She stole two iPhone 6’s worth £350 each, and a Galaxy S5 worth £300 and was given a conditional discharge for 12 months. She was told to pay compensation of £350, victim surcharge of £15, and costs of £85.
Kyle Burroughs, 24, of Shelley Avenue, Easington Lane, admitted to stealing a cash box worth £320 belonging to BT on September 7, with three codefendants. He was given a conditional discharge for a year and was told to pay compensation of £80, criminal courts charge of £180 and £40 costs.
Martin Urban, 45, of no fixed address, was given a conditional discharge for six months after a charge guilty to being drunk and disorderly on Blandford Street, Sunderland, on September 7, was proved in absence. He was told to pay a victim surcharge of £15, costs of £85, and a criminal courts charge of £150.
