Court Round-up: Mum attacked, threatening texts and shoes swiped

The following cases have been dealt with at Sunderland Magistrates’ Court.

Martin Bryant, 19, of Brinkburn Crescent, Burnside, Houghton, pleaded guilty to assaulting his mother and causing £300 of damage to her car, on September 12. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and was told to pay a victim surcharge of £15, costs of £85 and criminal courts charge of £150.

Wayne Vayro, 32, of Lilburn Close, Shildon, pleaded guilty to sending numerous threatening texts messages on August 19 in Penshaw. He was handed a 12-month community order and 10 days’ rehabilitation activity requirement. He was also fined £20, and told to pay a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £85, and a criminal courts charge of £180.

David Wade, 25, of Palmerston Road, Pennywell, pleaded guilty to assault on September 1. He was given an 18-month community order and was told to take part in a 30-day domestic violence programme, 35 days of rehabilitation activity and 50 hours of unpaid work. A restraining order was also made for 18 months. He was told to pay compensation of £20, victim surcharge of £40, and criminal courts charge of £150.

Kriss Botham, 34, of Hendon Valley Road, Hendon, pleaded guilty to stealing a pair of shoes worth £4 from Canine Animal Care Northeast in Sunderland on February 17. She was fined £75 and was told to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £200.

Terrence Bulmer, 32, of Hendon Close, Sunderland, pleaded guilty to theft of eight cans of lager worth £7.50 from Hendon Discount Stores on March 16. He was told to pay £7.50 in compensation.

Michelle Marriner, 35, of Whinfell, Albany, Washington, pleaded guilty to damaging a kitchen window of unknown value. She was fined £80 and was told to pay a victim surcharge of £20, costs of £85, and a criminal courts charge of £150.
