POLICE found cannabis joints when they searched a man’s house.
Gareth Gorringe had stashed 29 pre-rolled joints under a chair in his home in Hendon, Sunderland.
They were found by police, who arrested the 28-year-old.
Gorringe pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis, a Class B drug, at Sunderland Magistrates’ Court.
Stephen Davies, prosecuting, said Gorringe admitted he had the drug when police went to his home on May 3.
Representing himself in court, he told magistrates that he was sorry and the cannabis was for his own use.
Gorringe, of Canon Cockin Street, was fined £100.
Magistrates also ordered him to pay £85 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
