POLICE are appealing for information after a break in at a newsagents in Washington.

The burglary happened between 1am and 1.30am on Sunday, February, 10, at Premier Stores in Albany Village Centre. A quantity of cigarettes and cash was stolen.

It’s believed the men responsible were wearing ski masks and camouflage clothing and made off on an off road motorbike.

The thieves broke in by forcing the metal shutters. The shop was closed at the time and no-one was inside.

Neighbourhood Inspector Paul Stewart said: “We’re carrying out initial enquiries into the burglary including viewing CCTV and want to hear from anyone who may have any information about those responsible.”
