THE man accused of stealing a priceless first folio of Shakespeare’s plays has been found dead in prison.

Eccentric Raymond Scott, 53, was jailed for eight years in August, 2010, after finding himself at the centre of the mystery of the missing 380-year-old folio from Durham University’s Palace Green Library in 1988.

It re-appeared in Washington DC in 2009 and was traced back to Scott, who was arrested at his Washington home.

The Prison Service has confirmed he has been found dead.
