POLICE in Sunderland are offering free bike marking sessions to put the brakes on thieves.
Cyclists are invited to the Millennium Centre, in Concord, this Saturday, November 16, between 10am and 2pm, where officers from the Washington Neighbourhood Policing Team will be on hand to security mark bikes.
Further events will run on Saturday, November 20 and Sunday, November 21, between 10am and 4am, at Sainsbury’s, at The Galleries. Once marked, this means the bike can be returned to its rightful owner if lost or stolen then recovered by police. People attending can also find out further crime prevention methods and hear more about Immobilise - the free property register where goods can also be recorded.
