Attackers break man’s jaw in Sunderland street

Police are appealing for information following an assault in Sunderland.

It happened at 8pm on Monday, July 6, in the rear lane of Romford Street.

A 30-year-old man was approached by two men who assaulted him before making off.

The man received hospital treatment for a broken jaw.

The first offender is described as a white man, 6ft tall, aged in his thirties, had an unkempt look and was wearing a red jacket with a cream hat.

The second is described as a white man, 5ft 10inches tall, aged in his twenties, and was wearing a dark top and jeans.
