Arrest after stabbing in Sunderland

DETECTIVES have arrested a teenager after a man was stabbed in Sunderland.

At just after 8.30pm on Saturday, police were told that a man aged in his 20s had suffered stab wounds in Hendon Valley Road, in Hendon.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment on his injuries and is now in a stable condition.

Police say they believe the attack is an isolated incident and that those involved are known to each other.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and is currently helping police with their inquiries.
