POLICE are appealing for help after a series of burglaries across East Boldon.

They all happened overnight between Thursday, May 15 and Friday, May 16, in the village.

Between 10pm and 6am, thieves gained entry to a garden on Front Street before breaking into a shed at the property. However, after making a search of it, they made off empty handed.

Thieves gained entry to an address on Yellow Leas Farm, between 3am and 3.10am. They stole several electrical items including two lap tops, a video camera and a hard drive. Other items stolen included an ornament, lamp and memory stick.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this burglary and bailed pending further enquiries.

Between 3am and 4am, thieves attempted to force open a window at another property on Front Street. However, they were unsuccessful and caused damage only.

Police are investigating all three incidents and are keen to speak to anyone with information, particularly anyone who may have spotted any suspicious activity in the early hours.

People are asked to contact police on 101, extension 69191, quoting log numbers 387, 119 and 445, 16/05/14, or by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
