TWO men were due to appear before magistrates today after a bus wreaked havoc in a street.
The arrests came after a single-decker Arriva bus left a trail of destruction in Marcia Avenue, Shotton Colliery, on Thursday.
Residents in the street were shocked when the vehicle ploughed into cars and garden walls, and brought down two telegraph poles.
It is alleged the bus had been stolen from Peterlee Bus Station.
Adam Winfield, 20, of no fixed address, has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking and a number of driving offences. He has been remanded in custody.
Jordan Wilkinson, 19, of Trimdon, has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking.
He was released on conditional bail and was due to appear before Peterlee magistrates with Winfield today.
