The man was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesborough.

He was really lucky with the injuries that he sustained.

“He was really lucky with the injuries that he sustained. It could have been worse.

“It could have been 40ft that he fell and he landed on rocks and peddles. It was a hard landing.”

Mr Hart has urged people to stay safe in the area.

He said: “We would advise people to stay at the correct side of the fencing on the coastal path.

but we still get people doing it.

“Further up north we have also had dogs over the cliffs, so if people are walking their dogs they should keep them on a lead.”
