HELP fill up our pot.

That was the message from an activity club appealing for kind-hearted supporters to boost its cash keg appeal.

Youngsters who take part in Dawdon Community Centre’s Adventure Club sessions have been collecting their coppers to fill up a bottle.

Now the youngsters have launched a hunt to find a business to match their efforts, which leaders believe could add up to about £600.

Joanne Bowen, who runs the club, said: “The children have been saving their pocket money and put it into what we call the copper keg, and members of the community have also helped us they and raise the money.

“It’ll be used to fund activities and we’ve always got things coming up. Now we’re looking for a local business to match-fund it.”

The group, which recently raised £850 through a bag pack at Seaham Asda, has 192 members aged from five to 16.

Sessions include sports camps, craft classes and trips out.
