CLOWN around this week as the circus rolls into Durham.
Netherlands National Circus, one of the largest in Europe, will be at The Sands, Durham riverside, until Sunday with its stunts and comedy.
One of the stars of the all-human circus is Angelo, whose family have been in the clown business for three generations.
Highlights will also include a three-level flying trapeze as well as springboard acrobatics, roller-balancing, solo trapeze, diabolo and a hand-balancer who fires a bow and arrow with her feet.
A circus spokesman said: “It’s marvellous to be on tour here with such a special show.
“The idea of circus performance was a British invention and the circus is close to people’s hearts everywhere.”
The Netherlands National Circus was formed in 1948.
A box office will be on site daily from 10am to 8pm, or book tickets on 0844 415 5228 or visit: www.netherlandscircus.eu.
