HOLY Trinity Church in Sunderland’s East End will be holding a service on Saturday.
The service in the historic church starts at 3pm and celebrates the Holy Trinity – the most fundamental of Christian beliefs.
Light refreshments will be served afterwards and there will be a chance to look round Sunderland’s only Grade I-listed building.
Sunderland Old Township Heritage Society has also organised a memorial for the Victoria Hall disaster, when 183 children died on June 16, 1883. Flowers will be laid at the memorial in Mowbray Park and a short service will take place at 12.30pm.
Next month, a strawberry tea will take place at the Donnison School heritage centre, next to Holy Trinity church.
Tea will be served from 2pm for £3 per person or £1 for children.
