A host of children’s characters will descend on a South Tyneside social club for an afternoon of fun and fundraising this weekend.

The event, at the Neon Social Club in Jarrow on Sunday, has been organised by Omar Ames of South Shields-based children’s entertainment organiser Frozen Store Direct.

Our last event was a huge success and we hope this one will be no different.

The afternoon, also featuring kids’ entertainer Mr Shake, is being held in aid of Community Corner, a group raising cash for good causes in South Tyneside by selling donated goods at its shop in Jarrow’s Edinburgh Road.

Mr Ames said: “We held a similar event last month, which was a sellout, and since then, I’ve had loads of people asking me when the next one will be.

“Where we can, we always try to support local charities, so we decided to organise another event.

“We know the work Community Corner does, so we thought it would be a good idea to ask them to get involved.

“We will also be launching our latest characters to join Frozen Store Direct.”

Community Corner will run a stall not only selling donated goods to raise funds but also giving people the chance to find out more about what it does.

Dancers, trained by Michelle Watson, will be performing at the Nairn Street club too.

There will be a disco, and youngsters will be able to have their pictures taken with their favourite characters including Frozen’s Elsa, Peppa Pig, Spider-Man and Batman.

Mr Ames added: “Our last event was a huge success, and we hope this one will be no different.”

Doors open at 3pm, and entry is £5.
