YOUNG artists showed off the colourful puppet creations they’ve made at the National Glass Centre.

Children from the new Cre:ART Club spent 12 weeks making puppets, with their latest session opened up to all as they showcased their work in a performance.

The group was launched to offer children a chance to design and make different forms of contemporary art.

The classes are run by University of Sunderland graduate Shirley Anne Wood.

A film project she has worked on with young people was shortlisted at the Young Tyneside Film Challenge.

The Cre:ART Club runs every Saturday, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
