LMR Recruitment and Training has joined forces with The Bunker, the city centre studio that aims to promote music and the arts across the region.

The partnership, which comes on the eve of the 35th anniversary of The Bunker’s founding, will see the organisations working with a number of other creative businesses in the city to offer a range of traineeships and apprenticeships in Creative and Digital Media.

Chelsea Tune, a post-graduate student from Sunderland University, is on work placement at The Bunker, to gain experience before she moves into teaching full-time.

She hopes to pass on some of her skills and experience to other young people looking to start a career in the local music industry: “I’ve worked in the industry for a number of years now, teaching, recording and performing and I hope to help some of these trainees gain valuable skills that they need to find work,”

Chelsea, who moved to Sunderland from Manchester to complete her studies and fulfil her musical ambitions, added: “The Bunker is unique in what if offers, so is the only place in the City to gain real life experience in the industry.

“I wish there was one in Manchester when I was growing up”

Young people involved in the scheme will be challenged to develop their creative side, exploring the industry and their potential career within it. They will also have the chance to work with a range of The Bunker’s creative partners.

“The Bunker is a pillar of the creative and cultural scene in Sunderland and we are delighted to be part of this new creative partnership,” he explained.

“I am incredibly excited to see the talent and potential that we uncover, shape and celebrate.”
