FIRMS are being encouraged to enter into the Christmas spirit this year and donate to a raffle in aid of old folk.

Proceeds will go towards Cedar Court Care Home residents’ fund.

The home, which is in Portland Avenue, is on the lookout for businesses to donate raffle prizes.

Each company which donates a prize will get the services of chef Neil Cook, 43, whose wife Caroline is activities co-ordinator at the home.

Caroline, 47, said: “We are raffling off Neil to raise extra funds for treats and things like that. We know times are hard and money is tight, but the residents get a lot of out of trips. Neil is a qualified chef, so hopefully a few businesses would like to have him help out for a day, and we’ll have some good prizes in for the raffle before Christmas.”

The raffle will be held on December 6. For more details, tel. 581 8080.
