CHEVROLETS, Mustangs and hot rods brought scores of petrol heads to a city car show.

The annual custom car show took place at Silksworth Cricket Club yesterday.

Almost 100 specialist vehicles were on show to visitors, with food stalls and a bouncy castle for youngsters to play on.

The day was in aid of a good cause too, with Sunderland Cancer Patient Support group receiving proceeds from the event, which Barclays Bank have pledged to match fund.

Organiser Mark Wilkinson, of Silksworth, said: “There are about 100 vehicles here of all kinds, including motorbikes.

“It’s a decent turnout, which is what we expected with the weather being good.

“We have to say thanks to the cricket club as it is the second year we have held the show here and it’s a great venue.”
