CHARITY CSV has pledged to inspire more people to volunteer as part of a project aimed at keeping the Olympic spirit of 2012 alive.

The volunteering and learning charity is taking part in Britain’s Personal Best (BPB), a Big Lottery-funded project to re-ignite the spirit of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in a two-day mass participation event which ends tomorrow.

Charities, schools, community groups and individuals are invited to take part.

People are urged to think about what their personal best would be, from a sporting achievement to a business idea, to raising money for charity.

Once a goal is selected, they can register at www.whatsyours.org.

The charity is organising a series of events across the country to celebrate the launch weekend where people will be encouraged to make their own pledges at “pledging stations”.

The CSV’s pledging station will visit a Family Fun Day being held at Sunderland’s Hetton Lyons Country Park next Saturday.
