THE Bridges is proud to be backing the Sunderland Echo Portfolio Business Awards 2014.

“We understand the hard work that goes into running a successful company in the North East and we would like to applaud those who have made it onto the awards shortlist,” said boss Andy Bradley.

This year, the Bridges has welcomed several new brands into the centre, including Nudo Sushi Box, Ed’s Diner and local cosmetics brand Fizzylicious.

This autumn will also see more exciting tenants unveiled.

The Bridges’ retailers continue to trade well, despite a challenging economic backdrop, meaning the centre is ideally placed to attract new brands and to accommodate the growing needs of existing retailers.

“As a business, we are not just interested in our growth, we are interested in the growth of Sunderland as a whole,” added Andy.

“That’s why we’ve worked passionately to forge significant relationships in the community, most notably with Sunderland university, the city council, football club and college.

“By building and developing these relationships, we have a much greater understanding of the needs of the people of Sunderland, and we’re able to create positive changes to help stimulate future growth in the city.”

The Bridges is sponsoring the Medium Business of the Year category.

The Awards ceremony will be held at the Stadium of Light on Thursday. For tickets, email lynn.wild@northeast-press.co.uk
