Hardy fashionistas are braving the elements in Sunderland as they look to get their hands on a pair of limited-edition trainers.
The global launch of the Adidas Yeezy 350 Boost, which have been partly designed by rapper Kanye West, is at 10am tomorrow.
The only store in Sunderland which will be stocking them is Aphrodite Clothing, in Vine Place, and a queue started to form at midnight last night.
There are now over 10 people outside the store, despite the fact they will still have to wait almost a day to get a pair of the £150 trainers.
Andrew McKenzie, one of the directors of Aphrodite, has been blown away by the interest in them, with about 3,000 emails being received by the store in the last week.
He said: “A couple of months ago, we said we would stock this release, and a lot of enquiries from different people came in through emails, phonecalls and people coming into the store.
“We sent social media posts out on Monday and the reaction was unbelievable.
“We received 3,000 emails in a couple of hours, and the phone hasn’t stopped all week.
“People from different parts of the country said they were planning to drive up and come along, and we currently have Koreans, as well as local guys, waiting.
“They all seem in good spirits, and I expect the queue will get bigger and bigger as word gets around.
“Hopefully the rain will hold off for them.”
