Sunderland store’s cancer charity drive

IT’S jingle all the way at a Wearside store as it kicks off a festive 
fund-raiser.

Poundland, in Market Square, Sunderland, will hold the charity drive in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Saturday and Sunday.

To launch the countdown to the big day, staff dressed in seasonal fancy dress, with customers invited to join in the fun and enter a raffle to win a hamper full of goodies.

Tickets will be on sale in store all weekend for just £1.

Since their partnership began in 2009, Poundland and the charity have helped raise a total of £700,000.

Jim McCarthy, CEO at Poundland, said: “Macmillan Cancer Support is a fantastic charity to partner with and I’m proud of the Poundland team at Sunderland, as their continued support in raising money for this worthy charity is exemplary.

“We are delighted to be helping customers to enjoy Christmas whilst helping to raise money for Macmillan in the process”
