A MARKET aimed to attract new visitors to part of Sunderland city centre.
City artists, restaurants, designers, clothing stores and musicians showcased their talents at the event in Sunniside.
Grant Bulmer, who owns Signatures restaurant in West Sunniside, said: “I think everybody would agree that we would like to see this happen every week.
“There is a market held in Park Lane but that doesn’t increase footfall because people are already there. But with this you can see how many people it has attracted to the area. Usually it is dead on a Saturday.
“Even though it’s raining, people are sitting on seats that are always empty in the sunshine. There’s a nice atmosphere and a great vibe here with the market. I hope it continues.”
