PLANS to build 155 homes at Doxford Park have hit a snag due to the proposed road layout.
The planning application, from Gentoo, was due to be heard by Sunderland City Council’s development control committee this week.
But now it appears that the housing provider will need extra time to work on the plans.
A Gentoo spokeswoman said: “The determination of the application has been delayed due to issues raised by highways in relation to technical details. We are in the process of amending the layout, and have agreed with Sunderland City Council to extend the timescales for determination.
“It is currently expected that the application will be presented at the October committee.” The plans are part of the fifth phase of development on the site, on brownfield land south of Mill Hill Road. Proposals involve the construction of 16 two-bed, 26 three-bed, 87 four-bed, and six five-bed homes on the 7.4 hectare site.
